Conventions in my notes and on this website

Please note that many pages on this website are full of notes to myself -- often i copy and paste things that other people have said without bothering to attribute them (since i can just use google to find the original). So please don't think that everything here was written by me. You can usually tell which pages are full of copied and pasted bits of other people's words, and which are a coherent presentation of an idea that i wrote myself.

In my notes (and sometimes elsewhere), I often (but not unevenly) adopt a number of shortcuts to make it more efficent to read and to write the notes:

Don't capitalize letters, except for the first letter of the second or later sentence within a paragraph.
omit periods at the end of a paragraph (or list items).
omit quotation marks and attribution, when I think that it is clear from context that something is a quote (eg comments w/ header copied from a forum such as lobste.rs).
