There are lots of competing MMO architectures. We don't want to make another one, and we don't want to pick just one. Can we generalize over these/interoperate with them?

But otoh adding just one more layer of indirection via an aggregate protocol isn't our goal (that's a useful thing to do, but somewhat tangential to our other goals with Jasper, so it should be a separate project). We just sorta want to keep in mind what sort of things are good attributes for scripting languages for the various architectures, so that Jasper will be a good language in which to write virtual world object/creature scripts which are then compiled down the the platform's native scripting language.
