I found this tip about which kinds of blank CDs to buy on the internet a few years ago:
" A general rule: Phthalocyanine(gold, light green bottom) discs will last longer than cyanine/metal azo(green, blue, dark blue bottom) discs.
I've had good experience with these disc manufacturers(not brands) when it comes to longevity:
Kodak (phthalocyanine) Mitsui toatsu (phthalocyanine) Prodisc (phthalocyanine)
... But as I said Kodak and Mitsui is top grade. I recommend phthalocyanine discs." -- OC-Freak
