  1. # Elections

An Electoral Cycle is one year. An Election is held whenever one Electoral Cycle has elapsed since the previous Election, or sooner if any Chair position becomes vacant.

  1. # Election Ballot

On each election ballot are the following questions:

and in addition any other questions put on via the Referendum procedures.

All offices may be held by non-natural persons unless the restriction against this is in effect.

Representatives and Topic Classifers may be non-natural persons in any case.

  1. # Representative's Ballots

Every person who is named as a Representative on one* or more ballots shall, soon after each Election and soon after each Board Meeting, be provided a re-delegation ballot containing their name and the number of votes currently delegated to them with the question:

Votes that are delegated in this fashion are still said to be votes "currently delegated to them" but are not said to be "currently held". Votes that are delegated in this fashion can be un-delegated or re-assigned in the future.

    1. Election procedure

3 Chairs are selected by triscore voting.

One ballot is randomly selected, and the Representative named on that ballot is selected to fill the 1 Sortition Board Seat.

The 3 Long-Term Board Seats are selected after each election by: the top 3 Board Members by number of Board Meetings attended, such that at the beginning of said meeting they were one of the top 3 Representatives ranked by number of votes currently held.

At any time, the top 3 Representatives ranked by number of votes currently held fill the 3 short-term Board Seats. When another Representative enters the top 3, they may take their seat, even in the middle of a Board Meeting, by relieving any Representative currently serving in a short-term Board Seat whom is no longer in the top 3.

If the restriction on multiple offices is in effect then 'top 3' in each category shall be the top 3 Representative excluding the holders of any Board Seats in the previously mentioned categories. If the restriction on multiple offices is not in effect, then in computing 'top 3', a single person or entity who holds enough votes such that they could occupy multiple spots on the top 3 if their votes were split shall be considered to occupy multiple spots on the top 3.
