Things that might be useful for starting a (web) startup

NOTE: I haven't started a startup and it's more than likely that I never will. But just in case I ever do, I want to keep a list of things that might be useful.

• Nolo legal guides on how-to-incorporate in various states
• Delaware seems like the best place to incorporate as of 10-03
• http://getsatisfaction.com provides a tech-support website for $20/mo (well, it's free, but you really want at least one official moderator)

  • criticism: imo, as of 10-03, the site is too cluttered, busy. you can't reskin it without buying one of the more expensive packages
• Use Google App Engine for scalable web apps as of 10-03
  • Use Python
• linode and slicehost seem like the most popular VPS sites as of 10-03. the hostingfu blog has comments about hosting-finding topics.
• Amazon S3 for cheaply serving static content as of 10-03
• Read about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Financial_statements and the 4 basic statements
• See [1] for lists of relevant various developer tools. You may want a version control system, an issue tracker, a wiki, a blog, and/or a CMS
• Fluid Democracy or Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure as parliamentary authority

Predictably, a bunch of ppl have written self-help books for startup-starting. I dunno which are good. I haven't read any. Here's some I saw mentioned:
